About this event

Join Us for Maker’s Day July 13!

One of the ways our club can afford to purchase good quality tools and keep the annual dues to a minimum is selling items donated by club members. As such, we have organized our second “Maker’s Day”, which is a relaxed, hands-on event at Roger Dauer’s shop (9103 Molly Lane #8 in Anacortes). From 9-4 we will be making various items for the club to sell at the upcoming Anacortes Arts Festival in early August.

Any level of experience is welcome at this fun / social / learning event. Since all the club lathes will be set up in Roger's shop for Sawdust Saturday on July 12, we opted to organize this the following day. Drop in at any time and stay as long as you wish. We will be making tops, bowls, and other items (maybe even a hollow form!). The club will provide all the materials needed to make items, but you can also bring your own materials if you want. We will have nine club lathes available plus Roger’s.

Bonus: Join the lunch bunch! There will be cold cuts & the fixins’ available for sandwiches.

This is a wonderful opportunity to gain turning experience around more experienced turners and make a great contribution to the club. Look forward to seeing you there!!
